For the cost of all of these Canon digital cameras that my family has gone through over the years and that have been destroyed in various ways by random mischiefmakers...

I could have purchased one of these Nikon professional quality/grade cameras:

you best believe this would not be left carelessly around by me for a wanton mischiefmaker to pick up and damage. I would have stored it in a pristine glass case armed with a security system and bolted shut with a Master lock or two!
