Parenting Class

considering you need to take a class(sometimes) and a test and/or a permit to get a driver's license, to dig in your own backyard, to have a picnic in a public park, to walk your dog, it is a shame there aren't more qualifications and continued education for raising a child!

there are so many messed up people from folks who maybe were not and should not have procreated b/c they are not adequately prepared and do a HORRIBLE job!

I don't want to come off as self-righteous as I make my fair share of mistakes, but sheesh.

That's why I was eeked to see these classes being offered by our local chapter of

Parent Encouragement Program

Parents of Babies and Preschoolers: Learn how children develop physically, emotionally and socially, ways to encourage words and actions, tools for responding respectfully to problem behaviors, ways to set limits in a friendly and consistent manner. 8 weeks, 2 hours $182 per person $337 per couple

Putting an End to Whining: Learn how to put a stop to the whining and foster better, more effective ways to communicate. 2 hours, $30 per/person, $55.00 per couple

Becoming a More Encouraging Parent: Learn ways to respond effectively when your child misbehaves, ways to use consequences that work better than punishment, how to set and uphold limits while remaining firm and friendly, better listening and speaking skills. and there are at least a dozen MORE!!! Managing Anger, Couples Workshop, Family Council Workshop, Homework, How Rude! Social Training, Allowances, Teen Internet Socializing, Limit Setting
