while the children are napping...

i'm thinking of...

1. the fact that McDonald's is itching to get sued. The talking figurines that come in the McDonald's happy meals these days have a penchant for scaring people HALF TO DEATH when in the middle of the night you toss of your coat and a tiny voice yaps back, "I know That's right!" or "ow ow ow We really need a doctor". Imagine what it would do to the heart of a poor unsuspecting grandma.

2. my brother in law is actually going to rent out his place to one of the thousands of people descending in DC for Barack Obama's inauguration. he's charging $750 a night and a $1,000 for sercurity deposit. of course, he wants to shack up at our place and probably wouldn't even offer to break us off a piece.

3. about how inspiring is the story of Auntie Anne or Auntie Anne's pretzels. My sons loves Auntie Anne's pretzels and reading the story about Anne Beiler who started the company with an 8th grade education and had survived so much tragedy in her life (her 19 year old daughter died in a bulldozer accident and she was abused by her pastor) is inspiring. She started franchising the biz with family members and by the time she sold the company in 2005, she had over 850 locatiosn and $250 million in sales! Wow!

4. how a Pink poll showed that the average woman gets 5-6 hours a sleep per night. I guess that means I'm getting average sleep after all.
