smithsonian kite festival

We had a blast this Saturday during the Smithsonian Kite Festival which took place during the launch of the two week Annual Cherry Blossom Festival in DCCBoy and cousins from Toronto, Canada tried to launch our kite shaped and designed like a sea turtle. Everywhere we went people oogled our kite asked if we purchased it at the festival, though we bought it from Target or Kay Bee toys at least one year ago.
The Washington Monument horizon was filled with beautiful and colorful kites, some hand made
It took us a while...
to launch ours...

Even Jboy gave it a tryand eventually, we launched and got it up there pretty high too! yay us!
After an hour flying our own and admiring the various kitemakers and masters who competed at the show, we headed into my favorite museum, the Air and Space museum for lunch at the cafeteria and to purchase knick knacks and Space ice cream from the museum gift shop
