Diary of a Hair Emergency!

...with an ounce of trepidation and a pound of bravado, she stepped out into the high tide water, thinking she'd take a quick refreshing dip into the ocean. The temperature was 98 degrees outside. The beach was full of frolicking kids and sunbathers. She waddled in carefully, getting acclimated to the slightly chilled water. Just then, she turned to wave to her camp of family of friends perched a few yards away. Perhaps, it was a good decision on her part to turn her back to the water or maybe it was a bad decision. As she stood there, jolly-cheeked, grinning ear to ear, waving to her posse, she had no idea a 5 foot wave was coming ashore.

WHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!

Down went the roly poly near 5-month pregnant brown muffin. She rolled and bounced, eventually landing on her hands and knees. She coughed and spit out a mouthful of salty sea water, gritty sand and some seaweed. The wave was so powerful, it knocked at least 10 individual braids loose and clear out of her scalp, leaving her with an automatic scruffy and choppy hairline! The Scuncii ponytail wrap that once held up her tresses must have reached Spain by now.

After hounding her braid stylist for two days to get a one hour touch up appointment, the little beach adventurer is off to secure a much coveted and hard to obtain spot for an emergency touch up...she has vowed never to go into High Tide water again!
